Sverdlovsk Tour Operators Granted Visa-Free Access to Iran for Group Travel
In a significant development, four tour operators from Sverdlovsk Oblast have been permitted to operate tours to Iran without the need for visitors to secure a visa beforehand, according to Elmira Tukanova, Director of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Development of Sverdlovsk Oblast.
The tour operators eligible under this agreement are:
- JSC "Europeport"
- JSC "More Travel"
- JSC "Kingdom of Travels"
- JSC "MIRA"
For citizens planning to travel as part of these tour groups, consisting of five to fifty individuals, visa-free entry to Iran will be available.
According to open sources, an Iranian visa may be obtained online through the submission of an application on the Iranian consulate's official website. This digital process generates a tracking code that enables monitoring of the application's status. It usually takes two to three days to receive the visa. In-person visits to the consulate or border visas are also possible, particularly at international airports like Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Shiraz, where visas can be obtained upon passport control by presenting the tracking code to border officials. If traveling via alternate routes, visiting the consulate in advance would be necessary.
It is imperative that travelers possess a valid foreign passport and mandatory medical insurance for entry into Iran. It is recommended that travel insurance policies are bought specifically for coverage in Iran.
