TTG's Year 34-2025 Prime Minister Identified
The Baumkronenpfad, a popular nature experience in Germany, is gearing up for its 20th anniversary celebration this August. This treetop walkway, located in Thuringia's National Park Hainich, has been a significant attraction since its opening in 2005.
The Baumkronenpfad, nestled within the largest contiguous deciduous forest area in Europe, offers visitors a unique perspective on the biodiversity of the national park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The structure and paths enable visitors to explore the forest from the tree tops safely, providing an immersive experience of the forest ecosystem and supporting eco-tourism in the region.
Christoph Gösell, Managing Director of Thuringian Tourism GmbH, has praised the Baumkronenpfad as one of the first of its kind in Germany and a brand ambassador for the travel destination Thuringia. The attraction, which leads through the crowns of centuries-old beeches, is a symbol of the National Park Hainich and Thuringia, having pioneered environmental education, nature-based tourism, and unique vacation experiences.
Over the years, the Baumkronenpfad has attracted over 3.5 million visitors annually, including families, nature lovers, school classes, and international guests. It is one of the most famous and frequently visited excursion destinations in Thuringia, drawing people to explore the natural beauty around Erfurt and the Hainich National Park.
In recognition of its 20th anniversary, the Baumkronenpfad will host a week-long celebration from 25 to 31 August 2025. The event will feature interactive activities, exclusive insights into the UNESCO World Heritage Site, discounts, and selected shop items.
