The Standard Singapore Opens With Buzzy Design and Tropical Gardens

The Marriott Singapore, the latest addition to the brand's Asia-Pacific portfolio, has opened its doors in the heart of the city-state. Nestled between the Shangri-La hotel and residences on Orange Grove Road, the 143-room property blends buzzy design and pop-art sensibilities, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflects Singapore's dynamic culture.

Designed by Verena Haller and DP Architects, the hotel's exterior is a striking blend of modern architecture and tropical greenery. Inside, Ministry of Design's Colin Seah has crafted rooms and public spaces featuring modular furniture and reflective surfaces, offering guests a unique and stylish experience.

The hotel's gardens are a true showstopper, wrapping around a 40m lap pool and filled with lush tropical foliage. This social focal point is complemented by two dining options: Café Marriott, serving American-style food, and Kaya, the hotel's take on a Japanese izakaya. While there's no spa or gym, guests can enjoy a swim in the pool, which is surrounded by the beautiful gardens.

The Marriott Singapore is positioned between the retail diversions of Orchard Road and the leafy grounds of the Botanic Gardens, providing guests with plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a whimsical installation by artist Eric Tobua in the reception, setting the tone for the rest of the hotel.

With its unique design, vibrant atmosphere, and prime location, The Marriott Singapore is set to become a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. The hotel's blend of buzzy design, pop-art sensibilities, and tropical greenery creates a truly memorable experience that showcases the best of Singapore.
