The German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization (Sozialwerk der Bundeswehr) in Greenheide marked its 65th anniversary with the inauguration of a wheelchair-accessible solar boat. The event was attended by Dietmar Woidke, Brandenburg's Minister-President, and Steffen Knoblauch, the regional manager of the organization.

The German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization, a part of the military, offers a wide range of services to support the welfare, mental health, and social integration of soldiers and their families. Beyond financial assistance and holidays, the organization provides counseling and psychological support, assistance with reintegration into civilian life, educational and training opportunities, family support, recreational and cultural activities, legal advice, and social counseling.

The organization's services extend beyond just financial aid and vacation options. More than 150 disabled children, youth, and adults are able to go on holiday with the organization's round-the-clock care, and some of the accommodation for these holidays is provided by the organization itself. In times of need, the organization also offers assistance in adapting vehicles for accessibility, purchasing stairlifts, and covering uncovered medical costs.

The German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization relies on donations from military units as well as funds raised through benefit concerts, cake sales, and bottle collection drives. The organization also has around 2,500 volunteers nationwide in addition to its paid staff.

The wheelchair-accessible solar boat inauguration was not just a celebration of the organization's anniversary, but also a symbol of its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. The boat, inaugurated in Greenheide, will provide a unique and environmentally-friendly means of transportation for those with mobility challenges.

The German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization supports members of the German Armed Forces and their families, offering holiday and leisure opportunities for active or former military members and their families. The organization's services aim to promote well-being and support the overall welfare, mental health, and social integration of soldiers and their relatives.

The German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization, with its wide-ranging services, incorporates support for not only health-and-wellness and mental health but also lifestyle, extending to health-and-wellness retreats and leisure activities. The organization also includes travel opportunities for its members, offering accessible vacations for those with mobility challenges.

In alignment with its commitment to health-and-wellness, the German Armed Forces Social Welfare Organization has recently inaugurated a wheelchair-accessible solar boat, demonstrating its dedication to science and innovation in the field of health-and-wellness and lifestyle improvements, as well as travel accessibility.
