Seasons' getaway at Sayner cabin during Autumn
Get ready for an immersive historical experience as you join the workshops at the Sayner Huette! Starting Tuesday, participants will have the opportunity to delve into the past, following in the footsteps of 12-year-old Toni who worked at the Sayner Huette over a century ago.
The four-day rally, priced at 110 € per person, takes place from Tuesday to Friday, and includes a variety of workshops that promise to give you a sense of what a workday at the Sayner Huette was like in the past.
On Tuesday, participants will create colorful sugar casts inspired by selected collection pieces in the Huetten workshop. Each participant will take home their finished cast piece as a reward, making for a unique, sweet souvenir.
Wednesday is dedicated to a rally, where you'll follow Toni's footsteps, learning about the town of Sayn and its people. The day will take you from the Huette to Hein's Mill, providing valuable insights into the town's history.
On other days, participants will learn about the art of shaping sand molds and casting molten metal into hollow spaces to create Huetten Talers and small figures. You'll also have the chance to let your creativity run wild in the jewelry workshop, creating wire bending art during the wait for your masks.
The workshops will take place at the Visitor Center of the Sayner Huette, and tickets can be purchased at www.ticket-regional.de or at the Visitor Center itself. For those who prefer a single-day experience, a one-day workshop pass is available for 30,00 € per person, including entrance and materials.
Remember to bring your own snacks for the day, and prepare to learn, create, and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Sayner Huette! The mysteries of Toni's backpack, left behind by the young worker from Alt-Sayn, will be revealed during the rally, adding an extra layer of intrigue to your historical adventure.
