Returned from Savannah with some retro jewelry in tow
In the heart of winter, on the 1st of February, the author embarked on a journey to the sunny city of Savannah. Little did they know that their fashion choices would be put to the test by the city's unforeseen chill.
Upon arrival, the author was drawn to the vibrant vintage scene that Savannah had to offer. They found themselves exploring the charming streets, picnicking at Forsyth Park, rummaging through vintage shops, and even sticking their feet in the Atlantic.
The author's wardrobe for the trip was a mix of casual and playful pieces. They donned flip flops, shorts, and an anklet on a warm day, unaware of the cooler temperatures that awaited them. Despite the unexpected weather, the author's spirit remained high, and they embraced the city's unique charm.
As they wandered through the city, the author stumbled upon The Vintage Vortex, a haven for vintage clothing and accessories. Here, they found a collection of rings that caught their eye, including a pave band and a dainty ring with two stones on it. The author was particularly drawn to the Mejuri Thin Dome Rings and the Linjer 14k Gold Three Diamond Ring, both under $200.
The author also discovered a range of earrings that added a touch of glamour to their outfits, such as the Madewell Sculptural Droplet Statement Earrings and the Mejuri Dainty Beaded Ring. To carry their new finds, they opted for a $3 Canvas Tote, a practical and stylish choice.
One of the author's favourite finds was a sterling silver anklet with a teeny tiny puffy heart charm, given as a gift for Christmas. They wore this anklet throughout their trip, adding a personal touch to their outfits.
However, the author realised that they had not packed appropriately for the cooler temperatures. They learned a valuable lesson about checking the weather forecast before packing and plan to share their insights in a future packing post, focusing on what not to pack or what they would pack differently.
The author's trip to Savannah was filled with unexpected surprises, from the weather to the fashion finds. Despite the slight mishap with their wardrobe, they embraced the city's charm and returned home with a new appreciation for vintage fashion.
