Tourism Chief Bettina Bunge to Lead Luxembourg Convention Bureau
Bettina Bunge, the long-standing tourism chief of Schleswig-Holstein, will be departing at the end of October to take charge of the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB) in Luxembourg.
In her new role, Bunge will oversee international marketing for Luxembourg's meetings and conventions sector. Beginning November 1st, she will manage the LCB singlehandedly.
Bunge has served as the Managing Director of the Tourism Agency Schleswig-Holstein (TASH) since November 2017. She expressed her enthusiasm for guiding Schleswig-Holstein's tourism marketing and management towards a forward-looking direction. Despite her professional and personal attachment to the region, she acknowledges the upcoming shift.
State Secretary Julia Carstens has expressed her grief at Bunge's decision to leave. During her tenure, Bunge has made significant contributions to TASH, including strategic development, enhancement of marketing efforts, realignment of partnerships, and notably shaping Schleswig-Holstein's tourism landscape. Carstens expressed respect for Bunge's personal choice and soon plan to advertise the position.
Schleswig-Holstein recorded a record-breaking 9.4 million overnight stays and over 38 million overnight stays including camping in 2024, placing it fifth among the German states.
As the new CEO and Director General of the LCB, Bunge will play a key role in destination marketing, international partnerships, digital transformation, and sustainability, according to enrichment data.
