Livoltek & OMV Team Up to Boost EV Charging Infrastructure in Europe

The deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs) is expanding, yet it falls short of established targets. Meanwhile, the multitude of charging apps presents a challenge for users, as highlighted by Livoltek. Spain's electric mobility efforts are notable but require streamlined bureaucracy and unified charger management systems. Livoltek, a leading global manufacturer of photovoltaic products, is addressing these issues by innovating chargers and collaborating with Charge Point Operators (CPOs).

Livoltek offers a range of chargers to cater to different needs. For individual and residential consumers, they provide single-phase AC chargers of 7.3 kW and three-phase versions of 11 and 22 kW. For public places, they offer DC chargers, currently at 120 kW, with plans to increase this to 160 kW by mid-2024. Each Livoltek charger comes equipped with Dynamic Load Management, allowing for self-regulation of charging and surplus solar production use.

The company's strategy includes targeting individual and residential consumers, with options for public places through CPOs. This approach aligns with OMV's expansion plans. OMV, a leading Charge Point Operator and Mobility Service Provider based in Vienna, recently ordered the innovative SICHARGE FLEX system and is expanding its network in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Both companies aim to continually increase their market share in Western Europe.

Livoltek, part of Hexing Group, is committed to innovating its chargers and collaborating with CPOs for customer management. They believe that integration of charging apps would be ideal for wider station availability, addressing the challenge posed by the variety of charging apps.

Livoltek's focus on innovation and collaboration, along with OMV's network expansion, is set to boost the availability and usability of EV charging infrastructure. Despite growth, the deployment of charging infrastructure still needs to meet established goals, and streamlined bureaucracy and unified charger management systems are crucial for Spain's electric mobility deployment. As Livoltek and OMV continue to expand their reach, they are poised to play significant roles in shaping the future of electric vehicle charging in Western Europe.
