Germans of Israeli descent scheduled to fly over Amman, Jordan's capital, according to the Foreign Ministry.

In the heart of the chaos, a glimmer of hope for Germans in Israel - a charter flight organized by Germany's Foreign Ministry, departing from Amman, the Jordanian capital, is set to take off on Wednesday.

The Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, chillin' in Berlin laid it down to Reuters, "Germans on Israel's Elefand crisis preparedness list have been informed about this opportunity, and the nitty-gritty details."

Initially, the ministry urged all Germans in Israel, Iran, and neighboring countries to register on the Elefand list (krisenvorsorgeliste.diplo.de/signin) to ensure quick contact in an emergency. The Foreign Ministry spokesman, also from Berlin, pointed out that around 4,000 Germans in Israel and approximately 1,000 in Iran are currently registered on the list, with the numbers gradually increasing.

While no immediate plans for evacuations are in place, all options are open as the Crisis Squad of the German government keeps a constant tab on the situation with the nation's diplomats on the ground in Israel. With airspace closures, flying out of Israel is currently impossible, but no worries, the Amman International Airport and border crossings to Jordan are wide open. However, one needs to tread carefully amid the ever-shifting security landscape, making overland trips tricky.

So, German citizens on site, considering the situation, their immediate safety zones, and Jordan's security directives, are encouraged to weigh the land travel exit option thoughtfully.

While Europe isn't leaving Israel's citizens hanging, other nations like Poland and Lithuania are ramping up their evacuation efforts. Poland has opted for buses from Israel to Jordan, eventually ferrying nationals to Warsaw, while Lithuania embarks on land evacuations from Tuesday.

This international mobilization underscores the broader global initiative to safeguard foreign nationals in the region from the ongoing conflict.
