Historic Sanford Stadium adopts traditional block lettering for University of Georgia's first game of the season against Marshall, rekindling a time-honored tradition.

Georgia's season opener against Marshall sees Sanford Stadium revert to its traditional block lettering design.

The University of Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for their season opener against the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Dooley Field, Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia.

Crews have been busy painting the classic block lettering in the endzones of the football field, a sight that has been absent since the 2012 season. The installation of the block lettering is the work of Tom Murphy, who has been responsible for preparing the block lettering on Dooley Field for the Bulldogs' season openers.

In 2013, a new font called Bulldog Bold was used instead of block lettering on the football field. This tradition is being revived for the upcoming season opener.

Sports director Baillie Burmaster and former Bulldog QB Jake From will be featured in ANF's pregame and postgame shows, providing analysis and commentary on the highly anticipated match. The shows will be live broadcasts, with the location for the pregame and postgame shows being Athens, Georgia.

However, specific dates for the pregame and postgame shows have not been provided, and no information about the timing of the shows in relation to the kickoff is available.

Fans eager to catch the action live can tune in to ANF for the live shows, which will provide an exciting build-up to and analysis of the Bulldogs' season opener against the Marshall Thundering Herd.
