Fernride Aims to Set European Standard in Autonomous Logistics by 2025

Fernride, a Munich-based startup, is making waves in autonomous logistics. The company aims to set the European standard, starting with Europe's first fully certified autonomous truck system by 2025. Munich's ideal location offers access to top talent, strong industrial partners, and a supportive ecosystem for deep-tech startups in autonomous mobility.

Fernride's journey began in 2019, founded on over a decade of research at the Technical University of Munich. Today, it boasts over 150 employees and has already achieved significant milestones. In just one year, Fernride plans to successfully scale its first use cases and advance operational rollout, with a five-year vision to expand into additional industries and scenarios, including open roads in Europe.

Fernride's Ground Autonomy Platform combines AI-based autonomy with remote human control and modular, vehicle-independent hardware. This enables a safe and gradual transition to full automation, combining autonomy with human intelligence. Fernride was the first in Europe to operate a certified autonomous trucking system in accordance with the Machinery Directive. The company's close partnerships with industry giants like Daimler Truck AG and Bosch drive the development of hardware and trucks for autonomous logistics solutions.

Fernride's focus is clear: to replace dangerous and monotonous human tasks with safe and efficient automation solutions. By maintaining focus on high-impact areas and leveraging Munich's excellent talent and industrial support, Fernride is poised to revolutionize European logistics. With a strong foundation in research and a commitment to innovation, Fernride is driving the future of autonomous logistics.
