Embark on a thrilling motorbike journey across the vibrant state of Rajasthan, covering some of its most iconic cities and historical sites. Here's a seven-day itinerary that balances riding distances, sightseeing, and rest.

Day 1: Delhi to Bikaner (~570 km, 10-11 hours ride)

  • Start early from Delhi and ride on NH 48, connecting via suitable Rajasthan highways to reach Bikaner.
  • Spend the evening exploring Bikaner’s Junagarh Fort and local markets, before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Bikaner to Nagaur (~140 km, 3-4 hours ride)

  • After a morning ride, arrive in Nagaur and visit the imposing Nagaur Fort and local attractions.
  • Spend the leisurely afternoon preparing for the next day’s longer ride.
  • Overnight in Nagaur.

Day 3: Nagaur to Jaisalmer (~285 km, 5-6 hours ride)

  • Depart early for Jaisalmer and upon arrival, visit the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli, and take an evening camel safari in the Sam Sand Dunes.
  • Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 4: Jaisalmer – Tanot – Longewala – Jaisalmer (~130 km round trip, 3-4 hours riding)

  • Take a day trip from Jaisalmer to Tanot and Longewala, historic sites near the Indo-Pak border.
  • Explore the Windmill Farm and the border fence area.
  • Return to Jaisalmer for overnight.

Day 5: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur (~280 km, 5-6 hours ride)

  • Depart for Jodhpur and visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and explore the old city markets.
  • Overnight in Jodhpur.

Day 6: Jodhpur to Delhi via Nagaur or direct (~550-600 km, 10-11 hours ride)

  • Begin the long ride back towards Delhi, with an option to stop briefly in Nagaur if needed for freshening up.
  • Arrive safely in Delhi by night, or rest as per schedule.

Day 7: Buffer day/Rest/Local sightseeing in Delhi

  • Use this day to rest or explore Delhi’s cultural sites like Qutub Minar, India Gate, if time permits after the long ride.

Notes:

  • Daily distances range between 130 km to 570 km; plan fuel and rest accordingly.
  • Roads between these cities are mostly highways suitable for motorbikes like Royal Enfield.
  • Carry necessary riding gear, hydration, and spares, especially for desert stretches.
  • Tanot and Longewala are remote border areas; ensure proper permissions and confirm road conditions locally.
  • This itinerary is a condensed round trip focusing on Rajasthan highlights accessible from Delhi within a week.

While travelling, the author reached Jaipur within 5 hours of riding time after one break at McD, Manesar for breakfast, and tasted malai ghewar at Laxmi Mistaan Bhandaar sweet shop in Jaipur. The author also had the opportunity to plan a grand trip for the new year weekend, visiting Jaisalmer and Longewala in Rajasthan. After leaving Jaipur at 11 AM on day 2 of the trip, the target was to reach Bikaner by late noon on day 2. The author's planned trip included visiting Jaisalmer, Tanot, Longewala, Jodhpur, Nagaur, and Bikaner, with stops at Udaipur and Chittorgarh as an alternative plan. The author reached Bikaner via Sikar bypass, which took approximately 6 hours, and had chicken cuisine at Taxi Chick-Inn near the Sindhi Camp Bus Stand in Jaipur.

While journeying through Rajasthan, you might find that the diverse lifestyle and scenic beauty while traveling make it an unforgettable experience. After exploring the iconic cities and historical sites of Rajasthan, take a break to visit the imposing Junagarh Fort in Bikaner or the bustling local markets in the evening.
