EVA Air enhances in-flight internet connectivity with enticing improvements to its onboard Wi-Fi offering
EVA Air, a leading Taiwanese airline, has announced a significant upgrade to the in-flight entertainment system on its Airbus A321-200 aircraft. Starting July 1, passengers can enjoy free Wi-Fi during their flights, a move aimed at catering to the growing demand for staying connected inflight.
This Wi-Fi offer is available to all passengers, regardless of their membership status in EVA Air's frequent flyer programme, "Infinity MileageLands". Passengers can access a variety of content using their personal headphones and mobile devices. The service allows unlimited surfing, excluding video streaming, voice calls, or VPN services.
During the summer months, non-members in economy class will gain access to Wi-Fi for the first time. Diamond, Gold, and Silver card holders will have unlimited surfing in all classes, while Green card holders will have unlimited surfing in premium economy and limited access in economy. Business class passengers will have unlimited Wi-Fi access regardless of their membership status.
Non-members can sign up for free and receive 1,000 bonus miles, with immediate access to free Wi-Fi depending on the booking class. Passengers on Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787, and Airbus A330-300 aircraft can enjoy unlimited internet access once the plane reaches 10,000 feet. In economy class, certain membership tiers will also have access to text messaging via WhatsApp or LINE.
Starting in October 2025, EVA Air will limit free Wi-Fi access in premium economy and economy class to members of the "Infinity MileageLands" frequent flyer programme as a further incentive for customer loyalty. Non-members will only have free Wi-Fi access in business class.
The initiative is part of EVA Air's commitment to making the world of aviation accessible and engaging for all. By early 2026, the wireless system is expected to be available on all short-haul aircraft. After October 1, 2025, a new permanent Wi-Fi model will be implemented, ensuring that passengers can stay connected during their flights with EVA Air.
