The Government is pulling out all the stops to revamp roadways leading to touristic hotspots in eight regions of the country. This initiative aims to foster domestic tourism and ensure accessible transportation to these zones.

Currently, a whopping 1,900 km of roads are under repair, with plans to fix 544.7 km of these by 2025!

  1. Akmola Region - Roadworks on the R-2 "Astana - Korgalzhyn" highway are ongoing, focusing on the km 19-58 section, which stretches 39 km. In 2017, separate sections, amounting to 42 km, were fixed.
  2. Almaty Region - Repairs are underway on the R-16 "Kokpek - Kegen - Tüp - Jalanaş - Saty - Kurmety with access to Lake Kolsai" highway, specifically the km 3-24 section. Furthermore, work is being done on the A-6 "Kokpek - Kegen - Kyrgyzstan border" highway on the km 26-41 and km 68-88 sections.
  3. Jetisu Region - On the A-7 "Usharal - Dostyk" highway, leading to Lake Alakol, the reconstruction of the km 2.9-180 section has been completed. Work on the km 180-184 section is nearly finished. Additionally, medium repairs are being carried out on the R-20 "Saryozek - Koktal" highway leading to the "Singing Sands" tourist attraction, covering the km 0-45, km 110-141, and km 142-178 sections.
  4. West Kazakhstan Region - The 21 km-long section of the R-56 "Access to the village of Khan Orda" highway has been fully repaired, ensuring comfortable access to an important cultural-historical site.
  5. Karaganda Region - Repairs are ongoing on the A-20 "Karaganda - Ayaqoz - Tarbagatai - Bugaz" highway leading to the "Karkaraly" recreation zone.
  6. East Kazakhstan Region - Work is underway on sections totaling 152 km on the R-25 highway "Ust-Kamenogorsk - Altai - Rakhmansky Klyuchi", enhancing access to unique natural sites in the Katon-Karagay District, including the "Rakhmansky Klyuchi" resort.
  7. Pavlodar Region - Repairs are being carried out on the R-27 highway "Kalkaman - Bayanaul - Umutker - Ulyanovsk" to improve access to the "Bayanaul" resort area, on the km 82-231 section (24 km).
  8. Turkestan Region - On the M-32 highway "Samara - Shymkent", leading to the historic site of Sauran, medium repairs are being carried out on sections totaling 42.7 km.
