Azerbaijan Eases Visas for 2025 Grand Prix

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree allowing foreigners and stateless persons to obtain a visa on arrival in Azerbaijan between August 25 and September 30, 2025. This move aims to boost attendance at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, scheduled for September 19 to 21, 2025.

The Baku City Circuit, host of the Grand Prix, is renowned for its technicality and spectacle. Stretching 6.003 km, it winds through the city's historic and modern landscapes, attracting thousands of spectators each year. The 2024 edition set a record with 76,000 attendees.

To facilitate travel, Azerbaijan offers an electronic visa (e-Visa) service through the ASAN Visa platform. Visitors can apply online for stays up to 30 days, with standard e-Visas costing around $20 and urgent ones around $40. The visa on arrival, valid for the Grand Prix period, requires official accreditation or a race ticket.

Azerbaijan's visa policies aim to strengthen its sports tourism appeal. The 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with its exciting urban circuit, promises to draw more fans, generating extensive global media coverage and boosting the country's image as a premier sports destination.
