Antique and Classic Boat Society Holds Luxurious Event, Hosted by Nor-Son
Nor-Son Custom Builders, a renowned name in custom home design and construction, showcased their values in a unique way at the Woods and Water II event, held on September 13, 20XX. The exclusive fundraising dinner for the Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS) took place at the Anderson family's picturesque lakefront compound, which was built by Andy Anderson, the owner of Nor-Son Custom Builders.
The Anderson family, Nor-Son Custom Builders, John Allen, and the Bar Harbor Supper Club played significant roles in the success of the event. The Anderson family's connection with boats dates back to 1943 when they purchased their first cabin on Nisswa Lake. Over the years, Andy Anderson has rescued and restored many wooden boats, some over a century old.
The centrepiece of the event was the celebration of Baby Bootlegger, a 1924 mahogany runabout and two-time winner of the American Power Boat Association (APBA) Gold Cup Races. The show also featured a shoreline cruise, a water ski show, an evening at Fort Mahogany, a private museum founded by John Allen, and a boat show at Allen's Bar Harbor Supper Club on Gull Lake.
The week-long ACBS show attracted hundreds of enthusiasts and their prized boats from various lakes across the United States and Canada. Every boat in the Anderson family's collection is unique, being the only one of its kind in existence. The boat museum and boathouse served as a backdrop for various iconic vessels, including Baby Horace III and Royaleze.
Nor-Son Custom Builders, with their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and stewardship, shares the Andersons' values. The company, which works with clients, architects, interior designers, expert artisans, and craftspeople, designed and built the Anderson family's lakefront compound, boathouse, and private boat museum.
Lee Anderson, the founder of Nor-Son Custom Builders, inherited his love of wooden boats from his father. Andy Anderson's first antique wooden boat, a 19-foot 1938 Chris-Craft Sportsman, was named Katharine. The event was part of the ACBS's International Show on the Gull Chain of Lakes, a testament to the Anderson family's and Nor-Son Custom Builders' passion for preserving and celebrating the history of wooden boats.
The event was held under picture-perfect Minnesota weather, making it a memorable evening for all in attendance. The Woods and Water II event was more than just a fundraiser; it was a celebration of the Anderson family's legacy, Nor-Son Custom Builders' craftsmanship, and the enduring allure of classic wooden boats.
