Anglesey's caravan park restaurant makes the cut in The Good Food Guide's top 100 local UK restaurants list.
In the realm of culinary delights and outdoor adventures, we bring you the latest updates from the UK. This week, we delve into the world of local restaurants, campsites, and the travels of our very own Joanna Davies.
North Wales Shines in the Good Food Guide
Two eateries in North Wales have made it to the Good Food Guide's prestigious list of the UK's 100 Best Local Restaurants for 2025. The Dining Room in Abersoch and Y Marram, nestled in the heart of an Anglesey holiday park, have earned their spots among the best. The Dining Room, a small yet flavourful gem, has been a favourite in the region for over a decade, thanks to its talented chef, Si Toft. Y Marram, on the other hand, is a newcomer, run by brothers Liam and Ellis Barrie, the duo behind the popular foodie destination, The Marram Grass.
The Barrie Brothers' Journey
Speaking of The Marram Grass, it was unfortunately closed during the pandemic. However, the Barrie brothers didn't let that stop them. In 2024, they returned to their roots, opening Y Marram at Newborough Warren Campsite. Their culinary offerings at Y Marram range from pastries and brunch to seasonally-sourced dinner and tasting menus.
Joanna Davies' Adventures
Joanna Davies, our Staff Writer, has been making waves in the camping world since she joined us in March 2022. Her latest venture involves converting a 2009 Renault Grand Scenic into a micro-camper. She's been travelling with it, visiting Shropshire and the Peak District, and sharing her experiences in her travel features, campsite round-ups, and gear recommendations.
Campsite News
In other news, Trewan Hall, a campsite in Cornwall, has been put up for sale with a price tag of £3.5m. Meanwhile, Old Oaks has been voted the Overall Winner in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2025.
