The Swastik Luxury Wellbeing Sanctuary, nestled in the serene setting of Pune's Sahyadari range, is a unique wellness retreat that promises a harmonious blend of ancient wisdom and modern luxury. TAO Architecture, under the leadership of Principal Architect Manish Banker, has designed this sanctuary with an otherworldly aesthetic, reflecting a meditative approach to architecture as envisioned by Manish.

The retreat's design is deeply inspired by the Pancha Mahabhutas, the five great elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. This influence is evident not only in the materiality but also the spatial philosophy and sensory experience of the retreat.

Key architectural features include the integration of natural elements, the use of natural stone and sustainable construction, and the central infinity pool, Anand Kund, with a scalloped form that mimics the surrounding Sahyadri hills. The pool is slightly temperature-controlled and includes meditation alcoves, enhancing the sensory and mindful experience.

The sanctuary's layout and spaces are inspired by the symbolism of the Swastik logo, with each of the five vihars aligning with one element. The retreat occupies a 60-acre space, and the steep incline is barely noticeable due to the meandering paths and lush gardens that sit between each Vihar.

Sustainable features such as solar power and eco-friendly systems ensure a responsible footprint while providing modern comfort. Despite the delay due to the pandemic, the Swastik Luxury Wellbeing Sanctuary has started to materialize, and Manish, the Principal Architect of TAO Architecture, is enthusiastic about its design. The retreat's design was aligned with Nitin Nyati's vision for a holistic wellness center.

The Swastik Luxury Wellbeing Sanctuary is located alongside the Peacock Valley, overlooking the Khadakwasla lake, the rising and setting sun, and Pune's rolling hills. The retreat promises views for days and rituals that soothe and strengthen. This unique retreat is a testament to TAO Architecture's vision of a space where every element, from the pool to the building's form, is crafted with intentional symbolism and reverence for nature and wellness.
